Alex Williams, Sr. was born to the late Henry F. Williams and Bula Newton Williams in West Green, Ga on November 16, 1940. He attended the public schools of Coffee County, GA. In the late 1960s he moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey where he was employed with the Ford Motor Company for several years. He then returned back to Douglas, Ga where he was employed with a local fertilizer company, Goldkist, and later the Joseph Campbell Company from which he retired in 2003. After retirement he worked part-time for the Coffee County Transportation Department as a Bus Driver. At an early age he joined Oak Grove A.M.E Church where he was a member until his death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Geraldine Glover Williams. Four Sons: Antonio (Karen) Williams of Stone Mountain, GA. Two Daughters: Andrea (Kenneth) Lewis of Birmingham, AL., Stephanie (Brandon) Paulk of Lithonia, GA.; Twenty Grandchildren; Seven Great Grandchildren; One Sister: Nettie (James) Jordan of Douglas, GA.; Two Nephews: Ricardo (Annette) Williams of Warner Robins, GA., Gerald (Sherika) Williams of Eastman, Ga.; Two Nieces: Michelle Simmons of Douglas, GA., Senita (Maurice) Brinson of Augusta, GA.; One Uncle: Marildon (Julia) Glover of Douglas, GA.; Special Cousins: James Newton, Samuel Newton, Sr., Joseph Newton, Jr., and Joe Poole. Also cherishing his memories are a host of other relatives and friends.
