Bettye Jean Fletcher was born in Broxton (Coffee County) to the late Cozie Williams & Roena Burston. She attend Mary Hayes Elementary School and graduated from Broxton High School in Broxton, Georgia (Class of 1972). Furthering her education she attended several classes at South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia. Marrying her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Fletcher at the age of 19; they were stationed in Bossier City, Louisiana and Grand Forks, North Dakota where she worked as a sales associate and a substitute teacher. She was preceded in death by her father Cozie Williams, the love of her life Kenneth Fletcher, sisters Rutha Moore and Carrie Pearl Owens.
Bettye was dedicated to serving the LORD JESUS CHRIST and leaves to cherish her memory: her mother Roena Burston, one daughter-Kerpasha Benite’ (Ricardo) Davis and one son -Kenneth Benjamin (Stephanie) Fletcher; three loving grandchildren (Ke’Von, Ryon, & K’Niya) of Albany, Georgia; siblings: John (Dean) Williams; Nathaniel (Betty) Williams; Gladys Williams & Debra Williams all of Douglas, Georgia; Hubert (Izela) Williams of Blackshear, Georgia; Joseph Williams of Blackshear Georgia; Cozell Williams of Alma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
