Mr. Eugene Folson departed this earthly life Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Macon Ga. at The Medical Center of Central Georgia. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday May 9, 201,5 at New Hope Apostolic Church of God in Alapaha, Georgia with the Reverend Harvey Williams of Union Holiness House of Deliverance, officiating. Burial will follow at West Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha, Georgia. Arrangements are handled by McIver’s Funeral Home Inc., Douglas, Georgia.


Mr. Eugene Folson Sr. 63, was born June 16, 1951 in Willacoochee Ga. (Atkinson County) to the late Mr. Marion and Annie Mae Folson. He received his education in the Atkinson County School System. Mr. Eugene Folson was employed at Dupoint Pines formerly known as Hubert Moore Lumber Company.

Eugene Sr. was joined in marriage to Pastor Susann Folson on June 7, 1975

Mr. Eugene Folson Sr., was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed church, spending time playing sports, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Spiritual Life Fellowship Center of Prayer under the leadership of his wife Susann Folson.

Mr. Eugene Folson Sr., was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Marion and Annie Mae Folson, and two brothers Carson Newsome and Joseph Newsome.

He leaves to mourn: A loving and devoted wife Pastor Susann Fleming Folson, one loving daughter Monica (Geno) Watson of Alapaha, Ga; Six devoted sons: Eugene Jr. (Patricia) of Savannah, Ga., Charles (Unique) of South Korea, Justin (Apryl) of Tifton, Ga., Jason of Tallahassee Fl., Todd (Renee) of Savannah, Ga., and Victor (Paris) Folson of Nashville, Ga.

One sister Shirley A. Folson of Willacoochee, Ga., Five brothers: Prentis Newson of Palmetto, Fl., Rev. David Lee (Alma) Newsome, Samuel Lee (Valorie) Newsome both of Willacoochee, Ga., Ernest C. Newsome, Nathaniel (Sharon) Folson both of Atlanta, Ga.,

Mr. Eugene Folson had five grandsons: Daeshon, Austin, Gene, Jaxsen, and Jace. Eight granddaughters: Shakyra, Lexis, Kierra, Ke'Asia, Keyunna, U'ulani, Destiny, and Juliana. A special niece: Lakeyshia Grant and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
