Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce passing of Mrs. Freddie M. Monroe, wife of the late Adam Monroe, on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Savannah, Georgia. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the Monroe family during their time of bereavement. Graveside Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Douglas City Cemetery in Douglas, Georgia.

Mrs. Freddie Mae Monroe was born May 19,1938 in Douglas, Georgia. She stepped aboard and went smiling on the old ship of Zion Friday March 20,2020 at St. Joseph Candler Savannah Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Leola William Fussell and the late Collie Fussell. Mrs. Monroe was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School of Douglas, Georgia. She had one sister Lottie (Paul) Buchanan of Albany, Georgia. She is the mother of four children. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Adam (Roy) Monroe. Mrs. Monroe joined Young’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She helped care for a lot of elderly people in the Ambrose Community.
Those left to cherish the memories include four children Jacqueline Denise Dromes, Joyce Lott, both of Douglas, Ga, Bruce Lee Dromes, Waycross, Ga, Walter Clyde Dromes Jr., Detroit Michigan. Special Daughters Lisa William Thrower, Elaine Lovett, Linda Gail Fuller. Five Grandchildren Anyia Holmes, Mnija Holmes, Tyler Gifford, Tony Buddy Holmes III, Zy’Keriya Holmes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
