Geneva (Mama G) Holliman was born on August 26, 1943. On May 20, 1961, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Roscoe Holliman, Sr., to this union seven children were born.
Geneva Holliman was preceded in death by husband Roscoe Holliman, Sr., both her parents, Willie T. Riley, Sr. and Bertha Mae Randolph-Riley and three sisters Allene Riley, Loreen Pitchford, and Yvonne Jackson.
Geneva Holliman was born and raised in Broxton, Georgia and at an early she was baptized and gave her life to the Lord under the leadership of Apostle Charles Wilkerson. In 1997, she joined the Star of David Holiness Church which has since been renamed Emmanuel Deliverance Center, under the leadership of Pastor Nancy Brewton, where she faithfully served until her health began to fail.
Geneva Holliman was a wonderful person to be around and that was made known by all who knew her both far and near. She attended Carver High School in Douglas, Georgia, where she acquired a general education. Upon completion of her studies, she began to work at Joseph Campbell Soup Company in Douglas, Georgia, for whom she worked for more than thirty-six years.
Geneva departed this life on Saturday, February 7, 2015, after a brief illness. She leaves to cherish her memories eight children, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, five sisters, four brothers, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a very special cousin whom she loved and adored with all her heart: (Children) Velma (Freddie) Crowder, Hope Mills, NC, Michael W. Holliman, Jacksonville, FL, Cortez Holliman, Douglas, GA, (Oldest Grandchild) Dr. Sakeitha L. Crowder. (Sisters) Albertha Davis, Annie Jenkins, Nancy (David) Brewton, Mae Agnes (Jack) McKever and Mary (Robert) Sanks, (Brothers) Willie (Connie) Riley, Jr., Ambrose, GA, Charlie (Darquita) Riley, Broxton, GA, Cleveland Riley, Fayetteville, NC, E.L. Smith, Broxton, GA and her brother-in-law, Roosevelt Holliman, Sr., she also leaves to cherish her memories a very (Special Cousin) Elder Leavitis Golpin, Jacksonville, FL, A special child David Thompson, a favorite nephew, Benny Riley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral service for Mrs. Holliman will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Move of God Deliverance Center, Douglas, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Broxton City Cemetery. McIver Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
