Henry Jones fondly known as “Jay” was born on May 6, 1949 to the late Alice Mayes and Wilbert Jones in Thomas County, Georgia, and late Georgia Bell Jones. Three sisters, Christelle Horton, Mercedes Munford and Gloria Thompson; and one brother Willie D. Jones Sr. also preceded him in death.
He completed his education in the Atkinson County Public school system where he graduated in 1968.
Mr. Henry Jones departed this earthly life on November 4, 2014, while hospitalized at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
He is survived by: Brothers: Eddie (Louise) Jones, Thomas (Edna) Spencer, Thaddeus (Gloria) Spencer, Leroy (Winifred) Jones, Willie B. (Jennifer) Jones, and Timothy Jones. Sisters: Mary Bryant, Helen Jones. One sister in law, Carlene Jones. And several nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
