Isaiah Bellamy Sr. was born in Telfair County, Georgia on July 27, 1933 to the late Rev. Ulysses Bellamy Sr. and Fannie Wilcox Bellamy. Isaiah Bellamy Sr. departed his earthly life after an extended illness on September 9, 2019. Isaiah joined Rockhill C.M.E. church at an early age.
Isaiah received his schooling in Telfair County. He spent two years in the U.S. Army. Afterward, he returned to Telfair and became a great farmer. He also received the black farmer of the year award. He also spent some of his early years in Pennsylvania working at Boeing Vertoil.
Isaiah was preceded in death by two son, Tony Bellamy, and Timothy Cutler, four sisters and three brothers. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Alma Bellamy; four sons Daniel (Ann) Bellamy of McRae, GA, Isaiah Bellamy Jr. of Helena, GA, Isaiah (Janice) Bellamy of Fitzgerald, GA, Jason (Kendra) Bellamy of Columbus, GA, and six other children that he loved as his very own. Sammy (Viola) Reed of Douglas, GA; Dexter, (Regina) Reed of Ohio; Lester (Katrina) Reed of Douglas, GA; Barbara (Shaw) Simpson of Douglas, GA, Donetha (Roger) Glover of Douglas, GA and Vergina (James) Reed of Douglas, GA. One sister Juanita Collins of Chester, PA; and one brother, Garacus Bellamy of Jacksonville, GA.
Also, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Mr. Isaiah Bellamy Sr. of Jacksonville, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Rock Hill C.M.E. Church in Jacksonville, GA. Burial will follow at the Rock Hill C.M.E. Church Cemetery.
