Ms. Net or Aunt Net, as she was called was born to the late Eddie Lee Warren and Susie Tomlin Warren on September 23, 1928 in the Sapp Still Community outside of Broxton, Georgia. In 1937 her parents moved to Douglas, Georgia... Even though she had little education she was taught to work hard for what she wanted. And that she did! She began working to help the family in the cotton fields or whatever the job may have been. A hard worker she was! As Time passed on she began working different jobs. She was a good-hearted woman. Someone that you could depend on to get the job done. She worked many years at Douglas Foods as a processor until an injury cause her to retire. That still didn’t stop her from doing for others. She began doing housework and babysitting for many people. She didn’t see color, she saw an opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life and that’s what she did. She had love; she showed love and she gave love no matter what the circumstances may be. She told us to respect ourselves and respect our elders. Cooking was her passion and she did it well. She prepared so many meals for others. On November 5, 2016, she had a stroke. Through all the sickness and illness, she never once let it get her down. This was the first time she spent almost two weeks in Savannah, Georgia at Chandler Hospital before she could come back to Douglas, Georgia. She had to do rehab at Shady Acres before she could come home. Even though she could not do for herself, she still didn’t give up. She fought a good fight and she kept the faith.
On Wednesday February 8, 2017, her health began to change. Her body was tired and she was ready to go home. We were not ready for her to go, so God gave us a little more time. But on February 11, 2017 God said, “Now is the time.” You have given so much and done so much for family and others. God said today I give you peace so that you may rest.
