Martha Wilcox Baity was born in Jacksonville, Georgia on September 20, 1948, to the late Anderson Sr. and Willie Mae Wilcox. Martha (Mot) W. Baity departed her earthly life after an extended illness on November 26, 2014.
Martha W. Baity graduated from Nicholls High School in 1967. She was employed at Joseph Campbell for over 21 years. She was also employed at K&R Health Club. Her last place of employment was with McIver Funeral Home.
Martha W. Baity Joined Popular Springs Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She joined the choir. Her favorite hymn was “Guide Me Oh Thy Great Jehovah”.
Mrs. Martha W. Baity was preceded in death by six sisters: Cora Cooper, Susie Brinson, Katherine Cooper, Viola Young, Daisy L. Wilcox and Willie M. Wilcox. She was also preceded in death by six brothers: Luther White Sr., Melvin Wilcox Sr., Edward Wilcox Sr., Henry L. Wilcox Sr., Lacy Clark Sr., Levi Wilcox Sr., and Anderson Wilcox Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Jesse Baity; Two children: Ronnie C. Wilcox and Makina Baity both of Nicholls, GA. A God-daughter, Gwinnette Gordon of Charleston, SC; Two sisters: Phyllis (Ossie) Givens of Douglas, GA and Mary Bonneau of Nicholls, GA; Two brothers: Eddie (Virgina) Wilcox of Okeechobee, FL and Jesse Wilcox of Miami, FL. Three grand-daughters: Shaneka (Andrew) Jones of Jacksonville, FL; Tamera Wilcox and Ajaela Wilcox both of Alma, GA; God-sisters: Georgie McKinnon and Yvonne Nesbit; God-brother: Len “Pete” Warren; God-mother: Ophelia Warren; God-son: Willie J. McKinnon Jr; God-daughters: China Gaskin, Gabrielle Brinson, and Leashonda “Mese” Rooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
