On October 8, 1933 Monroe Johnson was born to Gracie Stewart in Telfair, Georgia. He lived in Georgia for many years and moved to Cleveland, Ohio for many more prior to moving to Rochester, New York. Seldom has death occasioned such real genuine sorrow and regret among all classes as that of Mr. Monroe Johnson, who passed to his reward April 15, 2016 at Unity hospital, Rochester, New York. His soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of eternal rest.
Monroe is survived by; One uncle, Roosevelt Stewart of Jacksonville, Ga. Many cousins and other family and friends. Special Cousin; Alma Barnes of Cleveland, Ohio, and George T. McIver, Sr.

The funeral service for Mr. Monroe Johnson will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at McIver Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Railroad Street, Douglas, Georgia with burial to follow in the McDuffie Cemetery -Milan, Georgia. Final arrangements were entrusted to McIver's Funeral Home, Inc.
