In Loving Memory of Mr. Shedrick Antonio Frost, Sr.

Shedrick was full of curiosity, adventure, and an infectious smile.

Shedrick Antonio Frost, Sr. was born on November 14, 1960, at Douglas Coffee County Hospital in Douglas, Georgia, to Frederick Lamount Frost of New York City, New York, and Gracie Lee Gaskin of Douglas, Georgia.

As a young boy, Shedrick was full of curiosity, adventure, and an infectious smile. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, exploring his surroundings, and making lifelong memories with family and friends. One of the highlights of his childhood was spending summer vacations in Orlando, Florida, with his beloved Aunt Lorene, where he looked forward to creating cherished memories year after year.

Shedrick graduated from high school in 1979 and answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. On September 19, 1979, he married the love of his life, Winnie (Dianne) Clarke, in Douglas, Georgia. Shortly thereafter, in early October 1979, Shedrick, Dianne, and their infant son, Shedrick Antonio Frost, Jr., relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, where he was stationed.

During his time in the Navy, Shedrick had the opportunity to travel throughout the world, experiencing different cultures and visiting many countries. Among all the places he explored, Japan remained his favorite destination. Although his military career was brief, the experiences and skills he gained would serve him for the rest of his life. After serving in the United States Navy and traveling extensively throughout the world, Shedrick returned home to Douglas, Georgia, to be closer to his family.

Their loving union was blessed with three more children: Reginald, Daniellia, and Matthew.

Shedrick's legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the family he loved and the countless acts of kindness he performed.

While serving in the Navy, Shedrick developed valuable skills in carpentry, electrical work, and woodworking. He became known throughout the family as the one who could build or fix almost anything. Whether constructing wheelchair ramps, adding sunrooms, making home improvements, or lending a helping hand whenever someone was in need, Shedrick gave generously of his time and talents. He never hesitated to use his gifts to make life easier for those he loved.

Affectionately known as “Granddad,” he was adored by his grandchildren for his warm smile, contagious laugh, and welcoming heart.

Shedrick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Winnie (Dianne) Frost; his son, Reginald Frost; and all those family members who welcomed him into eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Shedrick Antonio Frost, Jr. (Tamara), Daniellia Frost (Marquon), and Matthew Frost (Bridgetta); his brother, Felton Lee Rease (Latisha); his beloved grandchildren, Jade Frost, Imya Lacount, Sha’Kera Frost, Gabrielle Frost, Reginald Frost, Jr., Shyanne Williams, Asia Williams, Gavin Frost, Lauren Cosby, Marqueen Curry, Ri’Nya Frost, Royce Frost, Levi Curry, Markez, and Ziyan Curry; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Shedrick’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the family he loved, and the countless acts of kindness he performed without ever asking for recognition.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice in knowing that his love, kindness, and memories will remain with us forever.
