Mrs. Myrtice V. Bailey Quarterman was born in Coffee County, GA on May 6, 1932, to the late Maybell Eady Braswell and Joe Vickers.
Myrtice attended Faulk School in Ambrose, GA. As a child, she attended Saint James Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Oak Grove CME. She eventually joined Everett Chapel CME in Douglas, GA, where she was a member until her passing.
Myrtice married Elmo Bailey, Jr. of Gloster, Mississippi, to this union five children were born. She later married Richard Quarterman, Sr. to this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents Maybell Eady Braswell and Joe Vickers, her husbands Elmo Bailey, Jr. and Richard Quarterman, Sr., her son Andrew (PoBoy) Bailey, two sisters, Catherine Ligon and Betty Hicks and one Godbrother Bernie Braswell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Brenda Cheatham, Shirley (Fred) Brockington, Elaine Bailey, Annie Mae (Charles) Sims, Richard Vickers, and Connie Quarterman, all of Douglas, GA. She also has five step children: Brenda (Oscar) Lewis of Albany, GA, Jacquelyn Spivey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Virginia (Yancy) Durham of Waycross, GA, Richard Quarterman, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, brothers Jerry (Veronia) Braswell, Sr., Reverend Theodore (Barbara) Braswell, and Elijah Braswell, sisters Lula Mae Carter, Sr., and Mattie Braswell, and Godbrother Carl (Louise) Eady, all of Douglas, GA, sister Mamie (Daniel) Gaskin of Atlanta, GA., 16 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 18 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
