She received her education from the Hope and Irwin County School System. On August 28, 1966 she was married to the Late Sherman Lee Goolsby, Jr. In this union were seven children born. Two children preceded her in death, one grandson and four siblings.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined New Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Stanford L. Anderson. She moved to Joy Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church where she served faithfully. Then she joined Pleasant Grove First Baptist Church. She was a faithful attended Sunday School and mission until her health begin to fail.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Six children: Charlie (Sylvia) Goolsby of Broxton, GA, Sandra (Edward) Petrocellie A. (Shonda) Goolsby both of Ocilla, GA; Shaunda L. (Timothy) Walton of Fitzgerald, GA, and Quincey J. Goolsby of Douglas, GA, and Sherman Lee (Kari) Goolsby Jr. of Waycross, GA. Twenty seven grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren. Siblings: Elester June Killiebrew of West Palm Beach, FL, Wanda K. Tucker of Atlanta, GA, Dale Wilson and Mary Daniels both of Broxton, GA, Rose Mary Coney of Douglas, GA, Annie J. Mobley and Carrie Mobley of Wray, GA, Lorenzo (Marie) Killiebrew both of Ambrose, GA, Raymond Killiebrew of Hazelhurst, GA, Gary (Juanita) Killiebrew both of Broxton, GA, Eddie D. Killiebrew of Wray, GA, Russell (Candice) Killiebrew both of Ambrose, GA.
Sisters-in-law: Ella (Johnny) Brown of Irivington, NJ, Gwendolyn Goolsby of Rochester, NY, Evan Goolsby and Alice Goolsby both of Douglas, GA and Alene Goolsby; Brothers-in-law: Edward (Debbie) Goolsby of Jersey City, NJ.; Leonard Charles Goolsby of Douglas, GA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Pleasant Grove First Baptist in Ocilla, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
