Obituary

Raymond Robinson, the son the Bessie Lamar and Freddie Robinson, was born August 3, 1925 in Douglas, GA. Reared in a Christian household, he adopted and lived by Godly principles. As a young adult he accepted Christ and attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church (SJMBC, Miami) and later extended his quest to serve the Lord in Douglas, Georgia. Affectionately known as, Deacon Robinson, he served faithful and enjoyed teaching Sunday School, visiting the elderly, and helping those most in need. Recently, his discipleship flourished under the leadership of Pastor Alphonso Bryant (SJMBC). He ended his earthly walk and graciously took God’s extended hand on March 7, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side.

He met and fell in love with the late Queen Butler and together they had nine children (two sons preceded him in death). A man of true strength, wisdom and goodwill he went on to find love again with Millie Robinson (deceased). A man of few words, Raymond’s talent shown bright through the well-manicured lawns he took pride in servicing. He worked hard having been employed since age 12 with a variety of employers from Key West to Virginia.

Raymond leaves to cherish his intercessory prayers and precious memories as well as continue his legacy: his loving children, Raymond Robinson Jr., Edward Robinson (Patty), Etta Robinson (Donnel), Stevie Robinson, Queen (Kitty) Robinson, Willie Robinson (Barbara), and Michael Robinson, 27 Grandchildren, 65 Great-grands and 17 Great Great-grands, a Sister-in-Law, Estelle Love, wonderful nieces and nephews and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Elder Raymond Robinson will lay in state at Everette Chapel CME, Douglas, Georgia, Friday, March 12,2021 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.
