We celebrate the life of Mr. Robert James Ates, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He leaves to cherish his memoires his devoted wife, Mrs. Susie Ates. His children Calvin (Bobbie) Chandler and Kareem (Nikki -Miller) Ates, and his grandchildren Jykeria Ates, Dasha Chandler and Jaderia Ates, Ta'kwajala, Triq,king, Messiah Henderson, N'kandic Henderson and great grandkids and a host of great grandchildren. He is also remembered by his sibling: Gloria Filmore, Janice (Ronald) White, James (Wanda) Johnson, and Eva Johnson, his in-laws Carrie Johnson, Nonie Montgomery, Laura Watts and Bobbie Chandler along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Hightower Memorial Temple Douglas, Ga at 11:00am. Eulogist will be by Bishop Randolph Scott, with interment to follow in the Douglas City Cemetery. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the Ates family.
