Obituary

We celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Merie McIver, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Sharing in her legacy and mourning her passing are her two daughters; Alesia (Patrick) Wakefield-Medley and Marva (Terry) McIver-Reed, her brother Johnnie (Sallie) McLaughlin; her sister Emma Lou Perry; her seven grandchildren; Jonathon (Brittany) Wakefield, Kelsie Sudbury, Kassidy Reed, Hunter Wakefield, Camille Reed, Kerington Reed, Kole Reed, and her only great grandchild Alanah I. Wakefield; her loving and devoted in-laws Bobby (Yvonne) McIver, Betty (Bill) Yarborough, Shirley Ann (John) McIver, and Keith (Sherie) Kirksey. Also, mourning her passing are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and coworkers.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm. At the McIver's FH's Chapel.
Homegoing services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Tallahassee Missionary Baptist Church, Hazlehurst, Ga at 11:00am, interment to follow at the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery, Hazlehurst, Georgia. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the McIver family.
